This dictionary of ADEPT terminology is broken into five sections:
Each section is followed by a helpful collection of diagrams pertaining to the content just presented.
Abbreviations of the terms used in diagramming are noted to the right of each entry.
Channels are the directed relationships that connect ADEPT nodes.
The intrinsic aspect of an ADEPT node is conveyed through the thing [t] channel from another ADEPT node.
The extrinsic aspect of an ADEPT node is conveyed through the use [u] channel from another ADEPT node.
The symbolic representation of the identity of an ADEPT node is conveyed through the variety [v] channel from an Alyx node.
The identity of an ADEPT node is conveyed through the word [w] channel from another ADEPT node.
The individual aspect of an ADEPT node is conveyed through the subject [x] channel from another ADEPT node.
The grouping aspect of an ADEPT node is conveyed through the object [y] channel from another ADEPT node.
The original aspect of an ADEPT node is conveyed through the source [z] channel from another ADEPT node.
Rivulet notation indicates all derivation and function of an ADEPT node. A rivulet is abbreviated as three characters which reflect its depth, pool and nature (see axiomatic ontological constructs). A rivulet also has a common name alluding to its purpose. Rivulets have functionally-equivalent variants called trickles.

Alyx is the collection of all symbolic content in an ADEPT instance. In other words, it is the group of all nodes that have a variable property.
"variable" is the name of the only node property that exists within an ADEPT instance. Its value is a distinctly unique element of content represented as a string of encoded characters that either are the content, or link to it.
A consideration is a set of relationships (called channels) that are examined to determine the patterns that will correlate with particular meanings (called ontological constructs) in ADEPT.
Contains the Aether (H) Nature and has to do with the origination of context.
Contains the Translation (T) Nature and has to do with the origination and contextualization of content.
Contains the Being (B), Ground (G) and Light (L) Natures and has to do with final existence.
The three depths are assigned from patterns in the word [w] channel.
These four are determined directly from patterns in the graph for each node that have to do with the thing [t] and use [u], or subject [x] and object [y] channels.
The five natures are assigned from patterns in the variety [v] and source [z] channels.
Aether nature nodes have an original role in establishing context.
Translation nature nodes have a transcendent role in applying content to context.
Light nature nodes have a final role in defining contextualized content but do not iterate. They represent the facts of history and information "at rest".
Ground nature nodes have a productive role in iterating contextualized content.
Being nature nodes have an intentional role in iterating contextualized content. They represent information that has a conscious or willful intention.
The eight currents are rivulet groupings that flow into the channels of thing, use, subject, object and source. Currents are about constraining and directing the flow of information within an ADEPT instance. Their ontology is derived from their parent depth and pool. Because of their use in defining iterative collections of rivulets, the non-iterative light nature rivulets are excluded. The Obscure currents are considered as functional equivalents of their corresponding shadow currents.

The twenty Waves are a useful construct for defining the set of all possible inputs for a given channel regardless of determinate effect. As such their ontology is derivative of pool and nature without consideration of depth.

The ten Surfaces help to group rivulets into functional components of an informational system. Their ontology is derivative of depth and nature without consideration of pool. The surfaces have descriptive names.
Step 0 pertains to the existence of a variable property with some content in the Alyx node supplying a variety channel. Steps 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 pertain to the existence of a manifest translation in the secondary word channel.
Signifies the presence of a pattern in which the incoming variety [v] channel from an Alyx node contains some content as a "variable" property.
Signifies the presence of a pattern in which the incoming thing [t] channel from an ADEPT manifest entity (ME) has a secondary word [w] channel from a manifest translation (MT).
Signifies the presence of a pattern in which the incoming use [u] channel from an ADEPT manifest entity (ME) has a secondary word [w] channel from a manifest translation (MT).
Signifies the presence of a pattern in which the incoming word [w] channel from an ADEPT manifest translation (MT) has a secondary word [w] channel from a manifest translation (MT).
Signifies the presence of a pattern in which the incoming source [z] channel from an ADEPT manifest process (MP) has a secondary word [w] channel from a manifest translation (MT).
Signifies the presence of a pattern in which the incoming subject [x] channel from an ADEPT manifest ascription (MA) has a secondary word [w] channel from a manifest translation (MT).
Signifies the presence of a pattern in which the incoming object [y] channel from an ADEPT manifest description (MD) has a secondary word [w] channel from a manifest translation (MT).
Steps 2, 7, 9 and 10 pertain to the equivalence of a manifest translation in the secondary word channels of two different primary channels.
Signifies the presence of a pattern in which there is congruence between the thing [t] and use [u] channels.
Signifies the presence of a pattern in which there is congruence between the subject [x] and object [y] channels.
Signifies the presence of a pattern in which there is congruence between the subject [x] and source [z] channels.
Signifies the presence of a pattern in which there is congruence between the object [y] and source [z] channels.
